Ending the period poverty

When Rani got her first period, she had nobody to talk about it, not even her mother. As if her struggle to find basic clothes to cover her body was not enough, that this humiliation came over, she thought. With no access to sanitary products, she resorted to praying to Good to stop her periods forever until UPAY’s Project Shakti happened.

Surely there is a void we are trying to fill by creating awareness about menstrual health and hygiene as well as providing sanitary products, but thorough counseling about reproductive health and making them believe it as a blessing is what all they actually needed.

Hundreds like Rani who used to feel this humiliation are now confidently facing the world! That said, the women who used to beg to earn livelihood, now started saving money to get our hygiene kits at subsidized rates through our Project Shakti!
